Tidal effects in galaxy clusters
I will discuss several numerical studies of the effects of tidal interactions on galaxies within galaxy clusters, primarily focussed on the mass loss from a galaxy's dark matter halo. In particular I will discuss the role of group interactions, as well as the possibility of inferring the mass loss of observed galaxies from position-velocity phase space diagrams. Finally I will briefly discuss preliminary results regarding the effects of galaxy cluster tides within the context of modified gravity, where galaxies are no longer protected by a dark matter halo.
